L3 Harris
An international company based in USA, L3 Harris supplies communication technology to first responders around Australia. We worked with their Australian team to capture the radio systems in action around Perth and Fremantle. We delivered a suite of images and video content to be used in advertising and marketing campaigns around Australia.
The brief
L3 Harris is an international communications technology company headquartered in the United States, and its equipment is used by first responders across Australia. The brief was to photograph and film those radio systems in real operational use in Western Australia, for advertising and marketing campaigns running nationally. That is a different problem from a studio product shoot. The technology only makes sense in context, in the hands of the people who rely on it, which means working around real operations rather than staging them.
The approach
We travelled to Western Australia and worked with the team on location around Perth and Fremantle, covering the systems in the settings where they are actually used. The coverage had to be broad enough to serve campaigns across the country while staying specific enough to be credible to the people who use the equipment every day.
What we delivered
A suite of photography and video covering the radio systems in the field around Perth and Fremantle, delivered for use in advertising and marketing campaigns across Australia. The imagery was produced to work at a range of sizes and crops, from national campaign placements down to smaller marketing collateral, so one trip could serve a national programme rather than a single execution.
